Enterprise GSM gateways can reduce landline calls to mobiles by 50-70%
Ofcom regulations permit companies to connect enterprise GSM gateways, otherwise known as fixed cellular terminals (FCTs), to their telephone systems.
These divert calls via SIM cards within them directly to mobile networks. Hence the call is mobile-to-mobile, and avoids expensive inter-connect charges that make landline-to-mobile calls so high.
How much can be saved?
This is really worthwhile for companies with 10 or more staff perpetually making outbound calls to people on their mobiles.
A company making 50,000 minutes of calls per month would probably receive a fixed-mobile bill for £4,750 (@ 9.5p/minute).
If a GSM gateway was installed with 30 x Orange Solo 45 SIMs, each with 1,800 mins/SIM per month for £45, the airtime line rental would be £1,350/month.
Add maintenance and leasing costs of around £900 per month, making the total £2,250 per month, and the customer saves £2,500 per month. Looked at another way, call costs average 4.5p/minute as opposed to 9.5p/minute.
Flexibility
Whether the telecoms environment is PRI or SIP, or the set up is hosted IP centrex or on site PBX, Roamafone can provide the appropriate GSM gateway solution. This includes an option for Roamafone to provide a fully managed hosted IP centrex service, with competitive prices to hundreds of international destinations and encompassing high end PBX features (call hold, transfer, ring group, hunt groups etc.). Yet mobile calls (i.e. those sent to 07XX numbers) would be sent to the company's GSM gateway sitting on its corporate IP netowork at the its physical premises.
