CALL SHOPS - EVEN IN REMOTE LOCATIONS
For retailers and Internet cafes considering deploying call shops to increase revenues and/or attract customers, Roamafone can advise on and deploy proven systems with top call quality and competitive rates.
The one technical consideration is: what is the quality of the internet connection?
For eight booths we require a minimum of 0.25 MB of uncontended bandwidth.
If a sufficient internet connection is present, there are two types of call shop we provide:
First, there is the simple, quick to install call shop. It’s really just a small box (a media gateway) that costs around $200 and 8 analogue phones that can be bought for as little as $10 each. The media gateway connects to the Internet on one side and analogue telephones the other. Customers buy a PIN, pick up the handset (which immediately connects them to the switch), enter their PIN and dial their destination number. After the call the customer can return to repeat the process. When customers use up their PIN’s credit they buy another. The retailer makes margin on each PIN. Simple. The retailer just has to set aside some space and install or build some booths.
The second call shop product we offer allows callers to dial the destination number and pay for the call afterwards, for the exact amount of time spent on the call.
In markets where competition from pre-pay calling cards is acute, the opportunity for the retailer is to offer customers the chance to make shorter calls for a few cents as an alternative to buying a $5 card. That’s especially so when those calling cards’ credit is eroded by a weekly tax and high billing increments.
Roamafone can advise retailers, internet cafes and VoIP companies about the right call shop set up for their local market, and provide a turn-key solution using widely deployed and proven CTX call shop technology. Call quality is excellent and retailers can control their margins through sophisticated reporting mechanisms.
